Application For Apprentices

The apprenticeship coordinator selects apprentices who have shown a commitment to a career in the field of early care and education and who meet the program requirements listed below.

  1. Have sufficient educational knowledge to complete the OJT (on-the-job training) hours and related technical instruction. A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
  2. Be at least age eighteen (18) prior to the beginning the first year of apprenticeship.
  3. Be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the occupation without endangering themselves or fellow workers.
  4. Be currently working full time (30 to 40 hours per week) in a licensed or legally exempt facility.
  5. Have documented previous child care experience.
  6. Must complete an application, letter of intent, and resume.
  7. Must complete the Apprentice Work Experience and Profile form.
  8. Must show a willingness and commitment to take the time necessary to complete the two-year program.

All applications must be received by June 1st to be considered. A letter of selection will be sent by the end of June to those selected to participate in the program.
